Hello!

I'm Kat :) creator of Full Fat Baking

I assume you clicked on the 'About Us' page because you probably want me to tell you a little bit about me and what Full Fat Baking is all about - so, here goes!

Like I said, I'm Kat, and, you guessed it, I like to bake! I grew up in Cyprus (mum is English, dad is Cypriot. I speak both Greek & English fluently but use Greek more when I'm grumpy 😅) and came over to the UK to study Mechanical Engineering. I went on to develop diesel engines for few years after that followed by other things.

You may be thinking, "wait, what? What's with the cakes then?" - well, one day I woke up and decided to do something crazy, so I quit my job because I was MISERABLE so went on to pursue my hobby of baking as a career and that's when Full Fat Baking was born!

​

Now that's out of the way, a bit about me I guess - I'm a bit of a nerd, I love to know how things work, a bit of an anime nut and obsessed with playing board games. I started baking at quite a young age with my mum, mini jam tarts is the first thing I remember and we still bake things together when we can :)

So, Why full fat baking?

And what's it all about?

I chose the name Full Fat Baking because of a bit of a family joke actually - my dad loves a diet, he'll try anything new and trending. So, whenever he wanted dessert or if I'd baked something he'd ask "is this low fat?" or "is this a no-sugar dessert?". My response to this would always be "no. If you're going to eat cake, you may as well do it properly!" 

 

Full Fat Baking is sort of dedicated to my parents in a weird way (😝) but also stands for the fact that I will never use low fat ingredients! It's just not worth the calories and it means my bakes use a lot less processed ingredients!

So, what's it all about. I love anything colourful and quirky. So Full Fat Baking specialises in anything quirky you want, the weirder the better! We've even made an octopus hanging off a wedding cake 😂 But, I also love making people happy through my bakes, so there's an online shop which has loads of delicious BIG vegan and non-vegan bakes which you can even subscribe to so you'll get a surprise on your doorstop however often you want! At some point I'd like to also start sharing some recipes and tips for those of you that like to bake too, so keep an eye out for that! :)
